We are currently hiring for:

Executive Assistant & Client Care Specialist

Location: Brie & Banquet HQ, 524 42 Ave SE Calgary

Hours: 12 - 20 hours per week + more as required

MUST be available Mondays thru Fridays 11am - 2pm.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Executive Assistant & Client Care Specialist to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our business. Must be a cheerful go-getter with a can-do attitude who is flexible and adaptable - this is a diverse role and you will probably be asked to do things beyond the job description.

The Executive Assistant & Client Care Specialist will support the owner, Katie directly and will play a key role in helping our team run efficiently and smoothly. This position is perfect for someone who is proactive, has excellent communication skills, exceptional customer service, and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a reliable multitasker, that loves taking care of people, has a strong sense of professionalism and a passion for providing exceptional customer service and impeccable hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer client phone calls, respond to client emails, and general inquiries in a highly professional and friendly manner.

• Assist with the preparation of event documentation, including contracts, invoices, and client communications.

• Maintain and organize office files and records, both physical and digital.

• Help with ordering supplies and managing inventory.

• Follow up on event details, and support event logistics as needed.

• Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks and data entry.

• Handle any other administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an executive assistant, or high-level administrative role. Ideally within the hospitality or catering industry.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• A professional, friendly, and client-centered attitude. Customer service experience is essential and experience with luxury clients is even better!

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of attention to detail and discretion.

• Flexibility in hours and availability to increase hours during peak periods.

• A proven eye for design and experience working with Canva and Squarespace preferred.

Sous Chef / Kitchen Assistant ~ Part Time

Location: Brie & Banquet HQ, 524 42 Ave SE Calgary

Hours: 15 hours per week + more as required

MUST be available Friday mornings, early mornings on Saturdays (occasional 5/6am starts), and Sunday mornings - if you are not available on these days/times, please do not apply.

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and hard-working Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our micro culinary team. This person will work very closely with the Head Chef/Owner Katie in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring a flawless aesthetic and exceptional food quality, while maintaining efficiency and timely delivery of off-site and boxed catering.

This role requires adaptability, strong leadership, creativity, and a passion for beautiful food and impeccable client experiences. This role will include preparing cold and hot small bites, canapes and hors d'oeuvres, salads, buffet displays and preparing cheese and charcuterie for our Grazing Tables. Preparing ingredients, cleaning, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations, regardless of the tasks required to do so. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food, hospitality and client experiences, that is prepared to HUSTLE and eager to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic, unconventional kitchen environment. We are a small business and you will have to prepare and cook, not just delegate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef/Owner in food preparation and kitchen management.

  • Ensure all food is prepared according to our recipes, robust presentation standards, and quality control measures.

  • Oversee inventory management, including receiving, and storing food supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations, following food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Handle kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef/Owner.

  • General kitchen tasks and chores like food preparation, chopping, slicing, cleaning, proper storage of food items, adhering to food safety standards.

  • Supervising other kitchen staff ensuring tasks are completed to high standards. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback.

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment; cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, cleaning dishes and removing garbage when required.

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen experience in a professional kitchen is required (current culinary students are welcome so long as you are a natural leader with robust kitchen skills).

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

  • Valid AHS food safety certification.

  • Ability to multitask and work well under extreme pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.

  • You MUST have an aggressive attention to detail, and a fierce and graceful sense of urgency - this is an absolute non-negotiable - you must work FAST and FLAWLESS.

  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.

  • Flexible schedule including very early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Part-Time Floral Designer (Freelance)

Location: Brie & Banquet HQ, 524 42 Ave SE Calgary

Hours: 3 hours per week, one day per week + more as required

We are a wildly aesthetic, creative catering company that includes fresh floral designs on all our catering tablescape displays. We’re looking for a talented and experienced, floral designer to join our team! If you have an understanding of flowers and floral technique, a whimsical, artful, editorial design aesthetic, and LOVE creating beautiful arrangements for all sorts of occasions, we’d love to hear from you! You must be open-to and comfortable working with edible produce, like fruits and vegetables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create custom floral arrangements for bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, events, and other special occasions.

  • Collaborate with Katie to understand each client’s special requests, specific floral needs and design preferences.

  • Assist with operations, including sourcing, prepping, and arranging flowers.

  • Pick up flowers and supplies.

  • Cleaning, tidying and organizing .

  • Provide expert knowledge of flowers, plants, and trends in floral design.

  • Deliver highest-quality, stunning arrangements while meeting deadlines.

  • Occasionally assist with event setups or deliveries.

  • Can-do attitude and strong work ethic. We are a small but mighty team, you may be asked to do something totally outside of your job description in a pinch.

Requirements:

  • Abundant previous experience in floral design.

  • Strong design skills with attention to detail and wild creativity.

  • Knowledge of various floral techniques, styles, and trends.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills (ALWAYS a requirement at B&B).

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Experience with event florals.

  • Knowledge of floral care and maintenance.

  • Ability to manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
